An East Midlands recruitment firm is set to offer a lifeline to the thousands of staff who have lost their jobs after the collapse of stricken travel company Thomas Cook.

Frontline Recruitment, which has offices in Derby, Leicester, Mansfield and Nottingham is set to hold a Recruitment Open Day on Wednesday 25 September for ex-Thomas Cook employees to try and find them alternative employment.

David Essam, operations director at Frontline, said: “Everyone at Frontline Recruitment is saddened by this morning’s news regarding Thomas Cook, and we would like to help the employees who have lost their jobs where possible.

“The Village Hotel Club are very kindly offering us a room free of charge to support everyone who has been made redundant from Thomas Cook UK.

“Please come and visit us on Wednesday 25 September between 1-5pm at the hotel in Chilwell.”

Frontline staff will be on hand to answer questions about recruitment, talk about temporary jobs currently available and offer support with things like writing or updating a CV.

Essam added: “I’d like to extend our sympathy to all Thomas Cook staff affected by what happened over the weekend. However, we will help as much as we can to get them back on the career ladder and into jobs they can feel proud of once more.”
