Care home group plans to create 100 jobs in Derby

Up to 100 jobs could be created in Derby after a care home provider submitted plans to build a new facility on the site of a former hospital in the city.
Leeds-based Torsion Care wants to demolish for the former Kingsway Hospital buildings and build three units that would include an 80-bed care home and 66 care-assisted living units.
A planning statement submitted with the application reads: “The proposal will deliver sustainable economic development which will provide a number of substantial social benefits to Derby and investment in a vacant brownfield site.”
Torsion Care is currently building a similar scheme at Westerton Walk in Leeds. The company’s website says it is actively looking for more land to develop.
