Work begins on new Nottingham riverside scheme

How the scheme will look

The site of a former social club is set to be transformed as construction starts a riverside residential development in Nottingham.

Developer Peter James Homes has begun piling and foundation work to build 34 apartments on the banks of the River Trent, in Wilford Lane, West Bridgford.

The development, called Riverside, is due to be completed by spring 2022 and replaces the now demolished Trentside Social Club.

The 34 apartments will be divided between two blocks, consisting of one-, two- and three-bedroom properties, including two luxury penthouse flats.

MaryClaire Morgan, sales manager at Peter James Homes, said: “As people increasingly work from home and recognise the value of creating a better work-life balance, waterside living has become a highly desirable aspiration.

“We’ve spent a lot of time researching what is available along the River Trent and what types of accommodation people are looking for. The Riverside apartments will tick a lot of boxes, particularly for professionals and couples.”

Steve Parker, director of FHP Living which is marketing the scheme, said: “I’ve worked on projects with Peter James Homes for many years, but usually in relation to land acquisition,” he said. “So when they purchased the Trentside Social Club site and asked FHP to get involved, it seemed like the perfect marriage.”
