Encore Personnel has launched its second new division in 6 months.

The fast-growing recruitment firm has established an engineering division in Derby, with the news coming as the company aims to break through the £100m turnover barrier in its 20th year.

Engineering consultant Richard Glennan has been appointed to lead the new division, which will be based at Encore’s Derby city centre branch.

Encore launched a new division dedicated to attracting maintenance engineers in January.

The firm has five branches across the East Midlands in Leicester, Derby, Northampton, Nottingham and Spalding.

Glennan said: “Having started my career with an apprenticeship in welding and fabrication, I have a firm understanding of the sector and that foundation has served me well so far in growing teams which find the right people for the right roles, first time.

“There’s an exciting opportunity to expand Encore’s footprint in the engineering sector and with a decade’s worth of experience, six of those years being in a management role, I’m confident we will quickly grow our network into the Derby engineering market.

“Basing our approach on a very successful model – which is working hard for our clients in our other Engineering locations – we will be, as is the Encore mission, imaginative and client focused in how we package our solutions and sensitive to the individual requirements of each business we work with.”

Engineering operations manager Kristy Kenney added: “We knew straight away that Richard was the right fit for our business, because he understands people and clients so well. He is very driven, dynamic and personable and demonstrated a truly consultative approach in how he identifies the pressure points a business is facing, then gets to know what success looks like and formulates a strategy.

“Our aim with this new division is to grow organically. We want to establish and grow relationships with Engineering business’ within the Derby market with the aim of being deliberate in who we work with. It is key that the organisations we partner with share our values and objectives – which are centred around recognising the importance of people to the stability of an organisation.”
