£27m resi scheme to move forward in former mining town

How the homes will look

Plans to create over 100 new homes in Eastwood have taken a step forward after Avant Homes Central acquired an 11-acre site in the Nottinghamshire town.

The proposed development on Lynncroft, named Lawrence Point, will comprise 107 properties with a gross development value of around £27m.

Subject to planning approval, the scheme will consist of a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes – 10% of which will be affordable.

The Chesterfield-based housebuilder has also committed to provide community contributions of around £680,000.

Chris Coley, managing director at Avant Homes Central, said: “We’re consistently searching for development opportunities across the region. Following great success with our developments in Wollaton, Mansfield and Ruddington, Lawrence Point is a fantastic opportunity to further expand our presence in Nottinghamshire.

“We now await the planning decision from Broxtowe Borough Council, and, subject to approval, we look forward to commencing initial groundworks in due course.”
