Revamp a safe bet for popular entertainment centre

MERKUR Slots Ilkeston

A popular entertainment centre in Ilkeston is going for growth after its operator splashed £40,000 on a major refurbishment of the premises as part of a £5m UK-wide investment programme.

Punters at MERKUR Slots’ venue on Bath Street in the Derbyshire town can now enjoy the latest digital slot machines – with the emphasis firmly on low stake gaming and pay-outs ranging from £5 to £500.

The centre has also been bolstered by the addition of an extensive library of new and classic games.

Mark Schertle, chief operating officer at MERKUR Slots’ parent company MERKUR Casino UK, said: “The transformation of our Ilkeston venue outlines our long-term commitment to the town and our pride in continually investing and innovating in the local area, to help create a vibrant high street that generates employment and encourages visitors.”

MERKUR is planning to open new venues and create a host of jobs across the UK via its investment programme.

“It means a lot to be able to support the local community and economy in Ilkeston and surrounding areas via this refurbishment, having already generated over 600 jobs across the UK in the last 12 months through developing existing venues and opening new ones”, Schertle added.

“Our overall aim by transforming our Ilkeston venue into a state-of-the-art entertainment centre, is to give new and existing customers a unique gaming experience in an environment that reflects the scale of our investment.

“I’m sure it will be really well received by customers new and old.”
