Future uncertain for Derbyshire civils firm

The future of a Heanor-based civil engineering firm looks uncertain after it posted a second notice of intention (NOI) to appoint administrators.
Atlas Building and Civil Engineering posted the second NOI on April 28, two weeks after the first. It was also served with a winding up petition on April 19,
In its latest available accounts, made up to the end of September 2021, Atlas made a profit of £143,649 – up substantially from just over £19,000 in 2020.
At the time, the company employed 49 people, down slightly from 55 in 2020.
