New jobs to be created as pancakes brand chooses Leicester for second UK venue

Fluffy Fluffy Pancakes is opening its second UK site in Leicester this summer as part of its expansion plans in the UK and Europe.

The new site on Granby Street, in Leicester city centre, is expected to open this summer.

The Canadian brand, which sells Japanese souffle-style pancakes, is looking to recruit “multiple” new part- and full-time team members in the run up to launch.

The brand’s Manchester venue which opened last October and is now set to make a £250,000 investment at the Leicester site.

The company is aiming to open five sites in the UK this year. Fluffy Fluffy first launched its signature souffle pancakes in 2018, in taking Toronto, Canada. It now has 15 sites across North America, plus multiple sites in Europe, and in October it opened its flagship UK cafe on Whitworth Street in Manchester.

The new 1,100 sq ft Leicester venue will have space for 22 seats featuring the brand’s trademark yellow and white colourways with a mix of booth and table seating. There will also be take-out options on offer.

Hussein Umar, UK development lead at Fluffy Fluffy UK, said: “Leicester is a fantastic and diverse city and we’re excited to kick off our expansion journey there. Following impressive regeneration, it has seen excellent business growth which made it a natural choice for us.

“We’re not even a year old in the UK yet but the time felt right to bring the brand to Leicester after such a strong start in Manchester. The Fluffy Fluffy concept is about spreading happiness through food and we can’t wait to introduce dessert lovers in Leicester to the sweet and special world of Fluffy Fluffy.
