Efforts to find a buyer for stricken Northampton-based mechanical and electrical building services contractor, exclusively revealed by TheBusinessDesk.com, have failed.

Ambivent Limited, which just two years ago was turning over £14m, has ceased trading. Ambivent Services, which offers service and maintenance, breakdowns and repairs, and small works M&E projects remains unaffected by the move.

Ambivent Limited first posted a notice of intention to appointment administrators at the beginning of May.

A statement from Ambivent Limited said: “Today (Thursday 18 May) we make the hardest of decisions to wind up Ambivent Ltd after 33 years of trading.

“Having been a family and home to all our brilliant staff it is sad to let so many of you go your separate ways, but we wish you well on the next chapter of your careers.

“We thank our loyal clients and supply chain for your service, friendship, and dedication throughout the years.”

Ambivent Limited employed 61 people, according to its latest accounts. The firm had been working with Begbies Traynor to try and find a buyer

Accounts made up to 31 December 2021 show Ambivent was forced to write off £280,000 it was owed after the high-profile collapse of historic contractor Wildgoose Construction earlier that year.
