Struggling Derby gym welcomes personal trainer in bid for survival

A Derby gym on the brink of closing has been taken over by personal trainer, Harvey Doleman.
This move was made with the aim of saving jobs and maintaining memberships while also providing advantages to local schools, Jasmine Hall and the Royal School for the Deaf.
The takeover will give The Fitness Mill a modern makeover and enhance personal fitness opportunities.
Free classes and expert trainers are now part of the membership, with a boxing area and a physio room to support mental and physical health.
Membership prices will remain unchanged, and The Fitness Mill will continue to serve Jasmine Hall and the Royal School for the Deaf as a community space.
Doleman said: “This is a community facility, and I will be re-investing in the gym and its members with continual improvements and top-notch gym equipment. This is a really exciting prospect, and I cannot wait to put my own stamp on the place My intention is to create a community space – a place open to everyone and where local residents can come together.
“Without the rescue plan, four jobs would have been lost, memberships would have ceased, and community groups would have been left without a venue.”
