Discount chain snaps up former Wilko spot

One Beyond has secured the former Wilko space in Pescod Square Shopping Centre, Lincolnshire.

The unit includes 15,000 sq ft  on the ground floor and an additional 6,000 sq ft on the first floor.

The opening featured the presence of Boston’s Mayor and the ‘Pescod Panda.’

Oliver Marshall, director at FHP Property Consultants said: “The closure of the Wilko was a huge loss for Pescod Square and Boston town centre, after a short period of pro-active marketing it was great to see several interested operators for the unit.  One Beyond have proven to be the right choice with the operator being very well received by the local customers.”

Asset manager, Andy Conway from Estama, said: “The letting to One Beyond Retail marks a significant milestone for Pescod Square Shopping Centre.  The vacant Wilko could have left a large void in the scheme but instead the situation ends with a hugely positive outcome.  The letting brings new vitality to the scheme and will help us attract further new tenants.”
