Savills looks to increase East Midlands presence with quartet of deals

International real estate advisor Savills has, on behalf of Harlaxton Estates, let four individual units to separate tenants in Newark as it looks to increase its presence in the East Midlands.

In a quartet of deals it believes are “testament to the attractiveness of Newark”, Savills has let the units to a nationwide gym brand, an Italian power engineering firm, a gymnastics academy and a gaming company.

The Gym, which has over 150 sites across the country, has taken a 15-year lease on a c. 8,000 sq ft, unit at Beacon Hill Retail Park, while a 6,954 sq ft space at Malt Park, Northgate Retail Park, has been let to Mansfield-based brand 776 Gymnastics on a five-year lease.

The third letting is to Italian power engineering company Ansaldo Energia, which will take a 5,000 sq ft space at Long Bennington Business Park, also on a five-year lease.

Meanwhile, Blueprint Gaming – part of Germany’s Gauselmann Group – has taken a 6,863 sq ft space on Harlaxton Business Park Northern Road Newark – the brand’s second space on the business park.

Victor Ktori, head of office and commercial at Savills, said: “These deals are testament to the attractiveness of Newark as a prime location for tenants seeking business park premises in an established commercial location. All spaces boast excellent transport links with easy access to the M1/A1 trunk routes as well as direct rail links to London King’s Cross. All illustrate the developers desire to see the town thrive and prosper assisting existing businesses to grow as well as attracting inward investment from new companies to the town”.
