Well-known TV presenter joins Leicester media firm

Dominic Heale

Former local TV presenter Dominic Heale has joined Leicester-based training company PLC Media.

Heale will deliver media training and communications advice for the firm, which was set up in 2013 by another former regional TV news presenter, Dan Baker.

spent just over a decade presenting the news on ITV Central, and then 20 years on the famous red sofa of BBC East Midlands Today. He’s interviewed countless celebrities and many senior politicians from Thatcher to Blair to Clegg and Cameron.

When asked about his career highs and lows, he said: “A definite high was interviewing Felicity Kendall – like most boys I had a crush on her in the seventies! Winning a major award for coverage of the discovery of King Richard III from a car park in Leicester was truly memorable. A low point came when I was working in radio: I recorded an interview with Neil Kinnock at an airport and then realised, just after his plane had taken off, that there was no tape in my tape recorder!”

Baker said: “I’m thrilled that Dominic will be delivering training for our clients, both online and in-person. He brings such incredible authority and gravitas to the training, and offers such sage, considered support and advice. And of course it’s always great to see how blown away people are to find themselves face-to-face with such a TV legend as Dominic. It’s wonderful to have him on board.”
